Wedding photos

This is just one of the examples of how unique and amazing my friend Sascha is. She had a photo booth at her wedding. There were a bunch of different props that everyone used. Everyone had such a great time getting photos. Enjoy!

I just picked these fabrics up yesterday at Pipers and I can't wait to start a new quilt. Seth saw them and loved them and that sealed the deal. Our front room needs a new throw. These fabrics are the reason I love to sew. Erin's eye for amazing fabric is incredible. What a gift she has. Even though it's my family's store and I am there multiple times a week, each time I walk in I am in awe. It is a little slice of unique heaven with my favorite fabrics everywhere.

Best night of our lives

Last night I was continually reminded of what amazing people I have in my life. My best friend is now a Mrs. The day was perfect and so was the night. After Sascha and Joel left the party we continued the party. Seth and I spent our first night away from Piper. We stayed at the Hotel Monaco. What a great hotel. We danced and laughed all night with friends. Ordered room service at 1 in the morning. This morning we had breakfast with everyone re-hashing the events of the evening. When we picked Piper up this morning she was all smiles and so was my mom. Really and truly it was one of the greatest nights of my life. I am so glad Seth and I have such amazing friends and family in our lives.

Piper's first haircut

My little Piper got her first haircut today. So cute. She sat and watched her favorite, ELMO, and got the cutest little A-line bob. As we we drove away I looked in the rear view mirror and could see her pink balloon floating around and thought life doesn't get much better than this.

Sascha's Luncheon

My mom and Erin and I threw Sascha a luncheon on her last weekend as a single lady. It was so much fun. What's better than enjoying great food with the ladies in your life!

10 Days

My best friend in the whole world is getting married in 10 days. When someone that close to you is going through such a major life event, it feels like you are going through it as well. I am so emotional about it all. When you love someone so much, you want them to have the world and then some. It is very rare to meet someone at such a young age, and 20+ years later still be the best of friends. I was with my friend when she became a woman, and on March 20 I will stand beside her as she becomes a wife.
I truly believe in marriage. I know that a lot of people say it's "just a piece of paper," but to stand in front of everyone you love and promise to make a life with this person, means everything.
Lord knows that marriage is not always easy. You can't promise to be with one person for the rest of your life and not hit some bumpy patches, but you work thru it and hopefully it makes you stronger. If you find someone who makes you laugh, and who will always stand beside you and hold your hand, you are so blessed.

Learning to relax

Anyone who knows me knows that I am incredibly tidy. Cleaning supplies are my favorite. I vacuum my house at least 3 times a week. Erin says it's because I am a Virgo. Piper is teaching me to relax somewhat in this department. Saturday morning when she tipped the entire jumbo size box of Cheerios onto the kitchen floor, I continued on and let her have fun with it. I waited an hour before getting the vacuum out. I know one day she will be away at college and I can vacuum 3 times a day if I like. Whenever I see a box of Cheerios I will wish that she were around to dump them onto the kitchen floor.
God why am I so crazy.

Piper's First Birthday

Birthday Cake, originally uploaded by pipersquilts.

This day has come and gone, and I am a little late posting this, only by 7 months, but this is my little love 3 days before her first birthday. It was October 4, 2009. We had a wonderful party at our home. All of our friends and family came. It was a dark rainy day. We live in a little bungalow. You can imagine how lively it was with 30 plus people packed in our home. Seth's family, my family, friends young and old, and even Piper's great grandma Quinn came to celebrate her first birthday. Home made chili, butternut squash soup, salad, home made chocolate cake and delicious wine delighted everyone's tummies. Balloons, conversation, and children's laughter filled our home that day. Sadly my dad and Daryl couldn't join us. I wish my grandma Aline could have been there with us also. Instead we ate birthday cake on her china and I remembered how much I love her. I'm not a religious gal, but I like to think that Piper spent time with my grandma Aline and my aunt Jan before she was born. When I looked around our home on this day I was reminded how incredible life is. I have this absolutely amazing daughter, my Seth, and all these friends and family who are always there for us. Always loving and supporting. Nurture your relationships in life. I can't imagine where I would be without them.
